Caroline joined the ADE in April 2020 as Researcher with ACE. She undertakes research on a range of topics relating to decentralised energy and the transition to a net-zero economy. Alongside her role with ACE, Caroline is the Scheme Administrator for Flex Assure, a code of conduct and compliance scheme for demand response aggregators. From this role, she brings experience and expertise around energy flexibility and customer protection to the ACE team. 

Caroline has a research oriented academic background, with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods as well as spatial analysis. She is currently completing a PhD at the University of St Andrews, with an interest in energy ethics and just transitions. During her doctoral studies, Caroline took part in the Europaeum Scholars Programme, where she conducted multi-disciplinary research on Energy Poverty in Europe, generating policy recommendations for the alleviation of harms caused by energy poverty. 

Caroline holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the LSE and an MA Honours in Geography and Sustainable Development from the University of St Andrews.
