Combined Heat & Power, District Heating & Cooling, Demand Side Services

Forums and working groups

We hold regular forums and working groups which bring our members together to network, contribute their perspective and experiences and share best practice within the industry.

The forums and working groups are where members can participate in discussions on the most topical issues relevant to their sector, hear from experts such as Ofgem and BEIS, and gain policy insights.

The ADE encourages its members to play an active and vocal role in these discussions to ensure that their interests are best represented.

Forums are held three times a year and working groups more frequently. Forums have a more strategic focus while working groups drill down in more detail. With the exception of the Strategy Forum, all forums and working groups are structured  by technology.

Industrial

This forum provides a platform for the discussion and informing of the regulatory issues impacting on the industrial and utility scale combined heat and power (CHP) sector, for example the Capacity Market and Embedded Benefits. The group also addresses policy around the use of renewable and carbon neutral CHP.

Commercial Energy

This forum focuses on the application and growth of CHP in the built environment. The forum also provides a continuing focus for the growing microCHP sector, acting as a bridge between the CHP and microgeneration industry and policy environments.

Demand Response

This forum brings together leading UK industry associations and professional energy management companies providing outsourced demand side services to the public, commercial and industrial sectors. Make the case for reforming balancing services to ensure they are allocated transparently and fairly to demand and supply side users.

Energy Efficiency

Heat Networks

This forum is focused on improving the standards and delivery of heat networks and cooling schemes in the UK, including consumer protection and design, build and operation.

Strategy

The forum is open to those members of the Association in Full and Supporting membership categories. The purpose of the strategy forum is to provide a focus for discussion of those generic conditions having a strategic impact upon the decentralised energy industry and the Association's members as a whole.
